Professor Istepanian’s current research activity concerns the areas of mobile health (m-health) and aims at underpinning new mobile communications, network and sensor technologies for next generation of smart m-health systems.
Professor Istepanian interests include advanced communication and network technologies applied for mobile health. One of my favourite early themes has been the study of advanced digital signal processing methods for physiological monitoring in different environments. His present research activity spans over 4G and 5G mobile healthcare, Full IP- mobile networks for real time diagnostics, medical video streaming and remote diagnostics, new smart wearable sensors for wellness and healthcare monitoring, mobile health from the global healthcare perspective particularly for developing countries, personalised medicine and applications of advanced signal processing to genomics (genomics signal processing and role of social robotics for behavioural change and chronic disease management.
